Workin' on a Saturday
I'm about to head over the hill to put in some extra time at work... well, not really 'extra' time. Just making up for all the time that's lost when I leave early to attend the class I'm taking this quarter. I expect that I'll be able to get a lot done today, what with the office being quiet for once. Perhaps coders have historically been treated as employees that you stick in the basement and occasionally send new requirements down to not because they smell bad or are socially awkward, but because a distraction free environment is required for effective coding.
I know that my own productivity goes way up when I'm out of the lab/office and don't have to listen to other people's conference calls and daily chit-chat. Noise canceling headphones do help, but only up to a point.
