Free PDF Books from Bruce Perens
Freedom of Information maven Bruce Perens is working as the series editor for a set of programming and IT books published by Prentice Hall. Being Bruce Perens, the books are all being made available for free as PDF downloads several months after each one comes out. There are currently 19 titles available at Prentice Hall that you can read for free.
However, since the publishers want to turn a buck on this deal, they've obscured the location of the PDF for each book a bit. To see if the book you're interested in has a free version available, click its link from the series homepage, scroll down to the "More Information" section and click the link titled "Downloads" if it exists. At that point links to the free version should appear just below the "More Information" section. If it's not there, the free version isn't available yet.
